Welcome Home Troops - PTSD Research Study

Welcome Home Troops invites you to participate with us to understand the elements of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  We believe that the ability to understand the effects of a problem is only part of the answer.  Welcome Home Troops is currently involved in a dynamic, cutting edge study of the pre-war brain, with SPECT imaging, analysis by:

Dr. Daniel Amen of the Amen Clinic’s http://www.amenclinic.com/ &

Dr. Earl Henslin   http://www.drhenslin.com/

Our volunteer has submitted to the Pre-war brain scan, he is providing a video diary and journal of his experiences at the four star command in Bagdad, Iraq, for his 15 month deployment.  At the end of his deployment we will do a Post-war brain SPECT scan, to determine any changes.  With your help we can expand the study to include a broader spectrum of Military Service Members.

Although we have no pre-war criteria for patients in the VA System - we do have a large pool of veterans with various experiences from WWII to present OIF/OEF. There are some of these patients who have stated they would be interested in being part of a study group.  It would be our position to test them for a base line prior to treatment and then follow up with post treatment to identify a correlation between those who seek treatment and those who do not.  It is our hope that these veterans will also significantly be benefited from the WHT Program.

The SPECT imaging analysis by Dr. Amen and Dr. Henslin, will provide us a road map for War Related PTSD.

The Research study will help us analyze the problem. What areas of the brain are most affected and what types of treatments can be used to deal with the problem areas.  Drug therapy, nutrition, nuerotherapy, group therapy, and patient education are all areas to explore.

We are very excited about working with Dr. Mary Lee Esty Ph. D. from the Neurotherapy Center in Washington D.C. her work in Neurotherapy is cutting edge.   Dr. Esty like our other professionals have been instrumental in breakthrough technology that we believe will provide positive results in PTSD research for a more effective treatment.

Doing research with out hope for a solution is just another futile act.  Our desire is to take action and make a difference for our Military Service members and Veterans.

We are a Nation of Technology and Resources, Polio has been albeit cured in America, Treatment for Muscular Dystrophy is in sight, and Cancer is on the run.  PTSD is as great a social problem as any of these diseases it is equally as debilitating and it is at epidemic proportions.  Some symptoms of PTSD are Sleep Disorders, Depression, Addictions, Suicidal Thoughts, Broken Relationships, Intrusive thoughts, Rage or Uncontrolled Anger, and Anxiety.  We have over come, we can over come.

Your support for PTSD research, is vital, to the mental health of our nation.  Thank you for considering this giving opportunity.
